Katie is a really impressive corkscrew
Victorian horn, looks like antler but is actually presses moulded horn to give the textured effect of antler.
Has a strongly fixed steel helix
One end has a sharp steel point which was used to pick the wax off the bottle opening or used to break the wire or string that was often used to hold the cork in place.
She has some patina and lovely wear to her with some scratches throughout up from years of use.
Extremely well made and in very solid condition, she is in great usable strong condition
Screw into the cork, with direct pull action for removal.
