The Director Ezra - African Carved Clay Pot

The Director Ezra - African Carved Clay Pot

Ezra is a  beautiful hand made and carved African ink pot.

His tactile surface is in rich brown colour.

His round body had protruding vessel arms, his main vessel body is sill water tigh.t

A very rare antique clay pot from the Hausa/Fulani Tribe from Kano Nigeria.

Ink and dye would be stored in it to write on wooden slates.

His  4 small holes at the central opening are for cord, which would have been threaded through and tied in a manor for the pot to be worn and carried.

Ezra is in a uniquely crude form with hand work and messages in the carved surface markings.

He has some patina and wear and shows rich antique condition.

He is a very good usable quality to still be used as a vessel today.

This will be especially desirable displayed on a shelf or handing. Be creative with your end use.
